Originally from Canada, Mitch immigrated to Australia for postgraduate study and stayed on after meeting his Australian partner. He is active in the Australian Monarchist League as well as in his local community.

He has been a member of the Monarchist League of Canada for over a decade and served as chairperson of the campus Canadian Young Monarchists branch of his university. Mitch is an ardent believer in the Crown because it has allowed open, free, and democratic societies to develop in both his native and adopted lands.
