How fortunate we are to live in one of the greatest countries in the world - Australia - blessed with democracy, peace, and stability. These blessings are not accidental. They are upheld by a well-crafted Constitution and an institution that has stood behind it for generations: the Crown.

Governments change. Prime Ministers come and go. But it is the Crown and the Constitution, operating quietly behind the scenes, that have kept Australia stable through every change of government we have ever had, no coups, no contested successions, no politician holding the powers of head of state. Most Australians have never had to think about this. That is not luck. It is the result of guardianship, and it only holds if someone keeps watch.

Today, that guardianship is being tested. We are witnessing a coordinated campaign of ‘Republicanism by Stealth’, driven by a government intent on diminishing the Crown’s role in our national life. The Prime Minister has made no secret of his republican ambitions; from removing the King’s image from our currency and legislation, to treating the oath of allegiance as mere formality, and appointing a republican as Governor-General, this erosion is happening now — not in some future referendum, but in the small decisions being made today.

The Australian Monarchist League (AML) exists to be exactly that guardian, the frontline defender of Australia’s Constitution and Crown. We hold no government funding and answer to no corporate interest. We are powered entirely by Australians like you: patriots who understand that a system does not defend itself, and who believe our constitutional heritage is worth defending before it is lost, not after.

But guardianship takes resources. We are up against a well-resourced republican movement backed by media, big business, and political machinery. To counter it, AML must build a grassroots movement and fund a full-time manager, along with the support and social media teams needed to amplify our message and mobilise Australians to act.
