Monarchists condemn NSW Premier
Monarchists condemn NSW Premier for not lighting up the Opera House for Coronation
Monarchists from around the State who voted Labor, now regret doing so in view of the Premier’s decision, supposedly on the basis of cost, to cancel the lighting of the Opera House to commemorate the coronation of the King of Australia, who is also separately King of New South Wales and the other five Australian States.
Had the Premier contacted the Australian Monarchist League, our members we would readily have contributed towards the funding for this purpose on this important occasion.
Based on the decision of the Premier, one would expect that the Opera House and other buildings will no longer be lighted up for any purpose whatsoever in future. However, from now on, should taxpayer funds ever be used to light up buildings, it will prove that this decision was based on Mr Minn’s republican sympathies and not on cost.
Accordingly, every time the Opera House is lighted up, there will be complaints from around the State condemning the Premier for spending taxpayer monies on doing so, when he could not do this for his King.
