About AML

We are very grateful to you for your support.
Below is information on who we are, what we do and why we do it.

Who We Are

The Australian Monarchist League is the largest member-based monarchist organisation in the country with an email base of around 15,000 and a supporter base numbering several times that.

We are an incorporated association established to uphold the Australian Constitution and Crown.

Under our new constitution approved by and lodged with the Registrar of Incorporated Associations in 2024, we are now essentially an online organisation, and our National Council is elected by an online vote of members.

What We Do

The Australian Monarchist League lobbies government and individual politicians as well as informing our members and the public, particularly young generations (through our school’s programme) on the benefits of having a constitutional monarchy.

We have meetings, functions and the like but our main activity is in actively promoting - and defending, where necessary, our well tried and trusted system of constitutional monarchy.  This includes actively opposing any attempts to change our constitution for the worse.

In 1993 we became engaged in mounting a campaign against those who sought to change us into a republic and met with great success in opposing politicians, the media, big business, advertising companies and others that sought to tear down our system of constitutional monarchy.  This is despite the fact that over the past 30 odd years we have been a totally voluntary organisation.

Why Do We Do It?

Because we care passionately about the Australian way of life and want to ensure that our relative right to act freely under a dispassionate Crown continues for our descendants, we oppose any change to the structure of our governance. The Crown’s protection has seen us through our entire history and has enabled a democracy the likes of which can hardly be bettered. This is why we believe and act as we do.

The Future

Over the last few years, the Australian Monarchist League has achieved an incontestable and vital role within Australian public life.

We have many young Australian who are determined to see our present constitutional arrangements endure and they realise that, without us, there would stand very little in coordinated opposition to an Australian republic.

To defend the Crown and the Constitution is to engage in a complex debate, spanning law, history, economics, psychology, politics, geopolitics and so much more. The work that the League and its devotees have undertaken since 1993, along with the experiences, memories and lessons that have come from that work, is invaluable and irreplaceable which is why we are undertaking extensive efforts to professionalise our operations.

To do this we need to raise $200,000.00 per annum, so as to be able to employ executive and ancillary staff that can carry the organisation forward and we appeal to all those who value our system of governance to support us.

God Save the King.
