The Australian Monarchist League is above party politics but our mandate is to fight a republic and unfortunately moves towards a republic has become part and parcel of a Labor government.

Accordingly, with the election of the Labor/Republic government, we must now prepare to face what we believe will be an insidious campaign funded by you — the taxpayer — to indoctrinate the Australian people into accepting the removal of the Crown and its replacement by the politician controlled State.

The 2022 Republic Campaign page was originally created following the release on 12 January 2022 of the model proposed by the Australian Republic Movement to be put to the people at a future referendum.

The Australian Monarchist League immediately responded with our views and you can read our comments from the links below.

Also included, is the text of the details released by Peter FitzSimons on 12/1/22 as well as other material relevant to our campaign to retain the Crown within the Australian Constitution.

    The educated amongst us know that we are an independent nation. Our constitution was written by very wise people.. Our current head of state is a political, change that to an elected head of state and you immediately make the position political… The only people wanting change are those politicians who see a political and power gain… God save the King..

    Australia is already a sovereign country, totally separate from any other foreign body,
    The Australia Act 1984 made it so,
    Australians are ignorant of this fact and the Republic movement pushed by the socialist left Fitzsimmons uses this ignorance.
    The Act severed ALL LEGAL TIES from the United Kingdom along with the ability to apply to the High Court UK leaving Australia a totally separate Constitutional Monarchy protected from any despot President – as seen in many other countries.
    The Labor Party pushes the Royal Family as ‘ our rulers in a foreign land’. They use the emotional anti monarchist argument. Passive manipulation!

    Australians are so uneducated in their own Constitution, they make their decisions on emotions pushed by Fitzsimmons and the socialist left who are forever using the dysfunction the RF is currently experiencing, to push this idea.

    What Australian in their right mind would put that power into any of todays politicians hands?!
    In my opinion the AML needs to educate with vigour, the Australian People to the fact – we are already a quasi Republic.
    The Australia Act 1984 made it so!

    To show that we are for the monarchy I am Lord John Robert Brumby and my wife is Lady Janet Florence Brumby (a lowly title but in something The Queen is involved).

    I am not surprised by the new govt’s decision; they have been waiting to force
    a republic on Australia for a long time; I will always oppose this decision as I will never agree to this ignorant decision. God bless Her Majesty the Queen and thank you for her wonderful service and I hope She thoroughly enjoys the forthcoming platinum celebrations. Regards Helen Dowell
