The George Hotel is situated directly opposite the South Melbourne Market, with two light rail services only metres from the door.

The first (no: 96) runs along Canterbury Road, from the CBD and Southern Cross Rail Station to South Melbourne. Jump off at South Melbourne station, walk past the market and you’re there. The second (no: 112) runs a similar path, only along Clarendon Street. Get off at Coventry Street and The George is a two-minute walk down the road.
