Nationhood is a concept that has been around since ancient times. It is a concept that has been used to define the boundaries of a country, its citizens, and its government. It is an important part of any nation's identity and is an integral part of its culture.
The Constitution is the cornerstone of our nation and is the document that sets forth the principles upon which our system of governance is based enshrining the rights and freedoms of Australian citizens and defining our laws and regulations.
The Constitution is an essential part of nationhood defining the limits of the government and setting forth the rights of the citizens, the duties of the government, and the powers of the judiciary. It is the document that balances the rights of the citizens with the powers of the government. It is the document that ensures that no one branch of government has too much power and that the rights of citizens are respected.
The King is the symbol of our nation and is the embodiment of the nation’s identity and the representation of its values and ideals. He is the figurehead of the nation and the symbol of its unity.
The Crown is the State but more, as it it not controlled by politicians but is totally impartial of party politics. It always represents the best interests of all people regardless of political affiliation, race, religion or social standing. Under the Crown the various factions of the nation are unified under a common purpose.
The Governor-General upholds the Constitution and ensures that its principles are respected. He or she is the one who is responsible for ensuring that the government acts in accordance with the Constitution and is responsible for ensuring that the rights of citizens are respected and that the government fulfills its duties in accordance with the Constitution.
