Be informed on matters surrounding our current system of government, our way of life, and Australia's independence.

  • signed Funding for the ABC 2020-04-09 18:41:09 +1000
Over the decades, accusations of “bias” at the ABC have arisen at different times, and various inquiries undertaken, reviews of the ABC are regularly commissioned and not released.

Release the inquiries and let truth guide the way.

Under the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Act 1983,72 the ABC Board is bound to “maintain the independence and integrity of the Corporation” and to ensure that “the gathering and presentation by the Corporation of news and information is accurate and impartial according to the recognized standards of objective journalism.”

As a publicly funded broadcaster, the ABC is expected not to take editorial stances on political issues, and is required to present a range of views with impartiality.

At the 2016 federal election, a study commissioned by the ABC and conducted by iSentia compiled share-of-voice data and found that the ABC devoted 42.6% of election coverage to the Coalition government (this compares to the 42.04% vote received by the Coalition in the House of Representatives (HOR)), 35.9% to the Labor opposition (34.73% HOR), 8% to the Greens (10.23% HOR), 3.1% to independents (1.85% HOR), 2.2% to Nick Xenophon’s Team (1.85% HOR) and 8.1% to the rest.

A 2013 University of the Sunshine Coast study of the voting intentions of journalists found that 73.6 per cent of ABC journalists supported Labor or The Greens – with 41% supporting the Greens (whereas only around 10% of people in the general population voted Green).

Their antagonistic approach to journalism (bullies) should not be funded by tax paying workers.

    Congratulating the Prime Minister

Labor leader, Anthony Albanese has called on the prime minister to provide more funding to the ABC. The prime minister has rejected the call and should be congratulated.

To the Prime Minister, the Hon. Scott Morrison MP
    Parliament House
    CANBERRA ACT 2600

I applaud your decision in dismissing the call from Labor leader, Anthony Albanese, to reverse the government’s funding freeze on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

  • signed ABC Refuses to Broadcast Queen's Message 2020-04-05 21:01:34 +1000
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is Australia’s national broadcaster, founded in 1929 modelled on the BBC in the United Kingdom, the ABC is expected not to take editorial stances. Sadly more and more they pursue antagonistic, one-sided narrative the more tax payers find issue at their funding and begin applauding raids and demanding public inquiries and reviews.

ABC Refuses to Broadcast Queen's Message

WE WON - THE ABC AIRED THE BROADCAST JUST PRIOR TO THEIR 7 PM NEWS ON MONDAY 6 APRIL.
There is therefore no need to sign the petition, although, if you are new to the Australian Monarchist League, please consider signing up to receive our updates.

The Queen's Message can be viewed here.

Other than at Christmas, the Queen has made few televised addresses but she is to make an address to the Commonwealth tomorrow, Sunday 5 April 2020.

However, our understanding is that the ABC is purposefully not broadcasting the message. We call on all monarchists to sign this online petition calling on the public broadcaster to air the message from the Queen of Australia to her people.

I call on the Australian Broadcasting Authority to broadcast the message from the Queen which is to be released on Sunday 5 April, 2020.
