THE THREAT IS IMMEDIATE:
The Government proposes to hold a referendum on a republic preceded by a plebiscite question to be put to the Australian electorate in 2010 or before. This gives us less than a year to prepare for the next campaign.
OUR FIGHT FOR FREEDOM:
The League will challenge the government at every stage, whether it be the plebiscite, the referendum or against whatever steps politicians may take to attempt to remove our Constitution.
KEEP THE POLITICIANS UNDER CONTROL:
We sincerely believe that our Australian Constitutional Monarchy, drafted and voted upon by Australians to specifically suit the new Nation of Australia, is the only system which can keep politicians and their financial backers from assuming total and absolute power. new THE / AUSTRALIAN MONARCHIST LEAGUE:
Although formed in 1943, we have this year restructured ourselves to be better prepared to face the awesome challenge ahead. We are now an incorporated Association in New South Wales and have established the Monarchist Foundation, the Trustees of which are prominent Australians, including the former chairman of a bank and the managing director of a major investment company. The Foundation, which has strict accounting controls, will separately manage major contributions of $1,000 or more and will also administer a bequest programme.

Not one of these categories are on our side. We do, however enjoy the support of ordinary Australians such as those who ‘voted no’ last time because they value the freedom and stability provided by our Constitutional Monarchy.
